The Next OFF-White Air Force 1 is Almost Here
Rumours have started to circulate of the next OFF-White Air Force 1 Low to release as part of the late Virgil Abloh's ‘Figures of Speech’ exhibition, due to take place in the Brooklyn Museum.
Debuted at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, ‘Figures of Speech’ is an exhibition referencing the artist's use of quotation marks within his work and showcasing Abloh's work to date from his work at OFF-White, as well as his various collaborations and projects with musicians like Kanye West.

After initially holding the rollout of the legendary ‘The Ten’ collection in his home of Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art, Virgil has gone on to be Nike’s greatest collaborator, taking over the sneaker industry and pushing the narrative surrounding design. With a large part of the late designer's inspiration taken from art both past and present, it seems only right that he uses Art Museums around major cities in the US to host his exhibitions, and in turn, new sneaker releases.
After the tragic passing of Virgil Abloh to cancer aged just 41 on the 28th of November, questions began to arise as to what the future of his brand OFF-White may entail as well as leaving people wondering which projects would be released next, if any, from the archive.
However, after being teased by Tremaine Emory, the founder of Denim Tears, recently appointed creative director at Supreme and close friend of Abloh, the next addition to the lineage of the art exhibition exclusive sneakers may be due to release soon.
Similar to the ICA Air Force 1s (also coined the ‘Lemonades’) which were released in July of 2021 alongside Abloh’s exhibition moving to The Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston (ICA), the construction of the sneaker features an all-over green supple leather along with a matching hangtag in green. While the release is only rumoured at the time of writing this, on the Brooklyn Museum website it has been confirmed that the ‘Figures of Speech’ exhibition is coming from July 1, 2022 – January 29, 2023, suggesting the AF1 is likely to ensue.
In addition to Tremaine’s teaser image of the release, additional mockup images of what we can expect from the Brooklyn Museum OFF-White x Nike Air Force 1 have been released by Private Selection (@prvt.selection on Instagram) providing a full 360 view of the sneaker featuring the now-signature metallic silver Swoosh along with the raw heel and additional exposed holes in the tongue similar to that seen on the OW Air Jordan 5s released in 2020.
At the time of writing this, little is known about the rollout of the sneakers, with the SNKRS App going suspiciously quiet in conversation. Time will tell as to how the rollout of the upcoming Brooklyn Museum exclusive OFF-White Air Force 1 will occur.
Till then, keep it Kick Game for all the latest.
