What Went Down at the First Kick Game x Broken Planet Pop-up?

Taking Kick Game to another dimension, Broken Planet touched down in Covent Garden this past weekend turning their flagship store into a galactic gateway to their exclusive collection being sold exclusively in-store at KG across the country.

Despite the recent December weather dropping the country into the coldest months of the year, people started to queue around the block early the night before, camping overnight to get their hands on a finite piece.

Launched within the throws of the pandemic, Broken Planet aims to do their part to fix a broken planet through curating ethical, thought-out, collections utilising organic and recycled materials. Following this simple, yet effective, plan the impactful duo of Lukas Žvikas and Indrė Narbutaitė have experienced seemingly unrivalled success with Broken Planet becoming an instantly recognisable brand adorning the streets across the UK featuring its instantly recognisable bubble style fonts and designs.

Mastering social media, Broken Planet has amassed over a quarter of a million followers on Instagram and Tik Tok individually, utilising quick, shareable, marketing tactics which have super charged their ascension to the universal heights they’re currently experiencing.

This level of social influence was reflected during the opening day of the Broken Planet Market x Kick Game exclusive event which saw the UK’s leading sneaker and streetwear store turned into a fourth-wall-breaking, mind-bending, phenomenon with extreme attention to detail as soon as you stepped through the door.

What is usually a clean, minimal, interior evolved into a curiously brilliant playground of warped stones encrusted with intriguing colours in addition to the pillar of metallic sneakers supporting a small planet-sized boulder - fitting for the store in which it finds itself.

The reason for the transformation was to celebrate the launch of the first collaboration between Broken Planet and Kick Game titled ‘Collectors Only’ which consists of four exclusive designs over four distinct colourways including three tonal variants of brown, green and charcoal in addition to a bolder bright blue each of which featured the streetwear brands logo on the back, including the ‘Collectors Only’ title. The front of the hoodies also features distinctive phrases that fans of the brand will have become accustomed to.

Despite only starting the business in 2020, Broken Planet has seen incredible growth within a short amount of time and they’re not showing any signs of slowing down.

The Broken Planet Market pop-up events are only just beginning after sightings suggest a second landing today (14th DEC) in Kick Game’s Birmingham store, as well as possible other landings over the rest of the week including Manchester on the 16th and Newcastle on the 18th.

If you’re yet to get your tickets, make sure to keep an eye on your emails for your closest store. You can find more Broken Planet, here.

For everything else, keep it Kick Game
