The Amsterdam-based streetwear boutique joins forces with the Swoosh retailer once again for another offering of the latter’s iconic Air Max 1 model.

Dubbed ‘The Wave’ the upcoming Patta x Nike collection marks the duo’s fifth interpretation of the AM1, this will be landing alongside a limited collection of apparel.

Borrowing its colour-palette from the Nike Air Max 1 Anniversary 'Magma Orange' iteration, the upcoming Patta x Nike Air Max 1 ‘Monarch’ sees the model’s original shape make a return, while the suede mudgard has been aptly reimagined to resemble a wave (in line with the name of the collection “Waves Not Cycles” – a four-part film produced by Mahaneela, and directed by Steve McQueen.

On the collaboration and the film, Nike says:

The collaboration is a thematic reference to the cultural shifts and enduring influence that Patta has had on its greater community and industry. In this four-part film, we follow siblings Abdul and Carista as they ride the ever-changing seas of life.

“The opening chapter represents the future generation. A teenager, Abdul feels trapped and wants to break free from the cycle of his life. The boy is learning who he is, in life and work, independently of his parent’s expectations for the environment he is in.”

Bold orange tones highlight the mudguard and eye stays, as well as the sidewall Swoosh, heel, and tongue logos, with a contrasting mini-Swoosh on the toe box in white.

Mesh and leather combine on the rest of the upper, combining metallic silver and pure platinum, meanwhile, a sail midsole with a visible Air Unit sits underfoot, and a tri-coloured outsole rounds out the design.

The Patta x Nike Air Max 1 ‘Monarch’ official release date is set for Saturday, October 8, followed by a global release on October 15.
