Best Look Yet at the Upcoming Air Jordan 1 'Yellow Toe'
Following a pair of Air Jordan 1 PEs worn by musician Zach Myers in 2018, images of the upcoming GR release of the highly anticipated ‘Yellow Toe’ colourway have begun to circulate.
The Jordan 1, first debuted in 1985, is widely seen as one of the greatest sneakers of all time, with its release standing as a pivotal point in sneaker culture, the Air Jordan 1 silhouette has inspired generations as well as transcended time, only seeming to become more popular as the years roll on.
One of the best colourways of one of the greatest silhouettes, the images started to surface from zSneakerheadsz in a blurry Instagram post which has since been confirmed to be true following clearer images being released providing a full view of the entire sneaker which is slated for release in August.
The sneaker itself is made of tumbled leather around the foot arch panels, toebox and heel panels along with a smoother black leather around the mudguard and ankle support, suggesting the release will be one of Jordan Brands' bigger releases for the year.
Using simple colour blocking seen on the 'Royal Toe' released in 2020 and the earlier ‘Bred Toe’ released in 2018, it appears that Jordan Brand may have a pattern emerging, releasing more sought after colourways that reference the OG releases from 1985 every two years similar to that of the annual Air Jordan 11 holiday release schedule. The upcoming ‘Yellow Toe’ may well be seen on many people's top 10 lists come December.
Black and yellow leather is used on the toe and heel of the sneaker. Finished with yellow flaps around the ankle and the classic Jordan Brand Wings imprinted in black. Unlike the Pollen colourway released in 2021, white tumbled leather is found around the midpoint of the upper and midsole breaking up the colourway, further elevating the design. A bright yellow outsole ties the colourblocking together.
While official images of the Air Jordan 1 ‘Yellow Toe’ have been causing waves in the sneaker community, rumours of the original ‘Chicago’ colourway re-releasing in 2022 has and will continue to garner incredible attention.
