Kick Game Opens Its Doors In Milan Furthering Global Appeal
Amidst growing global appeal for luxury streetwear and sneakers, Kick Game is set to take its biggest step thus far - setting up shop in Europe.
Following its first London location on High St Kensington, the luxury retailer has been going from strength to strength since opening its boutique in London’s prestigious Burlington Arcade. In a perfectly executed fashion, Kick Game has sprouted stores in key cities all over the UK, from the capital to the midlands, slowly moving up to their latest store in the North East, Newcastle. Each store opening has been seamless and features Kick Game’s gallery-esque style, hero-ing sneakers as pieces of artwork.
Kick Game is consistently pushing the envelope within the UK sneaker and streetwear scene, as well as in surrounding music and pop cultures. It’s doing this through a multitude of avenues, including its hit sneaker shopping show ‘Shopping For Sneakers’ which receives millions of views a month, and through its social media presence. With this growing global presence, it is a natural step for the brand to begin flourishing in new markets.
Opening its doors in Italy’s fashion capital will provide Kick Game with a crucial foothold in the European market, sitting among iconic fashion brands like Bottega Veneta, Armani, and Prada to name a few.
Approaching its tenth anniversary later this year, Kick Game has seen immense growth as sneakers have become sort-after statement pieces, combined with greater fashion casualisation trends into ‘new luxury’. Kick Game has gone from the ‘one to watch’ to being a leader in the culture with its exemplary range of the latest sneaker drops, and the rarest pieces of streetwear and collectables.
Discussing the importance of Kick Game’s latest store opening, CEO Alicia Thompson said: “Milan is the home of several global iconic fashion houses that are leading the way in new luxury, and we want to be part of that fabric. We want to bring our flavour of ‘new luxury’ to the city and connect our talent and artists with the store, creating world-class activations and events in Italy and Europe. Milan was a natural first move for us and it will be the first of several more European stores this year.”
“We have waited for the right time to launch our brand in Europe and now is the perfect moment for us. We’ve been building for this and have lined up some incredible talent and partners, like Fredo, to light up our store and the city. Watch this space for some incredible content and of course, we’ll be stocking the latest drops and rarest pieces for people to see in our store”, says Kick Game’s co-founder Robert Franks.
At the epicentre of Italian fashion, Kick Game’s illustrious ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Milan store will take place on the Grand opening day, scheduled for Sunday the 19th of February. As always, Kick Game will bring its signature London flavour with Fredo leading the proceedings.
